CLOUSER WINS “CARTER/ANDERSON CLASSIC” AT MORRIS

Morris, IL…….Mario Clouser of Auburn, Ill. led all 36 laps of Saturday night’s “Carter/Anderson Classic” USACRegional Midget race at Grundy County Speedway in his Illinois Corn Marketing Board/RTS Farms Beast/Stanton Mopar. Jim Anderson took second, with Patrick Wilda third, Alison MacLeod fourth and Danielle Dickson fifth. Series point leader Kyle Hamilton was sixth.

NASCAR stars Ryan Newman and Jason Leffler to run USAC races during Kroger SpeedFest

Ryan Newman and Jason Leffler, two of NASCAR’s top stars have confirmed that they will be running on Thursday night of SpeedFest in the two USAC races. Leffler has entered in the USAC Midget race and Newman is slated to compete in the J. D. Byrider 100 Silver Crown race. Newman has one career win in the Silver Crown series at O’Reilly Raceway Park, five Midget wins and his 1997 Midget win helped spring board his racing career.

“Winning the Night Before the 500 was the biggest race win of my career back then – it was like winning the Daytona 500 at the time. There was a huge crowd, and it was a very special moment for me and my entire family because on that night, I was the best driver in Indianapolis,” Newman said recently. “That was what we had worked for since I started driving quarter-midgets when I was just four and a half years old. For me, that was a huge night not only personally, but also for my career. I feel like that race win is what helped me get to where I am today.”

Kroger SpeedFest begins on July 23rd with the USAC Silver Crown and Midget Series race. On Friday the stars of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will thrill the crowd with tight racing and bumper to bumper action during the AAA Insurance 200, presented by J. D. Byrider. The weekend concludes with the 28th annual Kroger 200, benefiting Riley Hospital for Children, NASCAR Nationwide Series race on July 25th.
